We booked for 4 days just after the Xmas break. I was already having reservations after conversations on the phone with host. She was overly friendly and disclosing a lot of personal information. But they had a pool and this was why I booked it. When we arrived I was directed to the room ( after being the handed the key and opening up thier office instead) by the husband and then the wife continued after with eftpos machine in hand. We had not even taken my bags from the car. She straight away told me I was not to walk in the house with shoes in (not even to drop my bags in) I was with a five year old boy. Also not to leave the front door open, ( their is no fly screen) it was leading in to 3 days of 35 degree weather. Then we were told I wasnt to swim in the pool with sunscreen unless organic/ natural, I had a brand that was, she was fine with that at the time. Over the few days I found her out the front of the house with a leaf blower and knocking on my door to check she wasnt disturbing, also I came to see her continually tidying our shoes out the front of the house. The windows were all able to be viewed from their driveway and cars could see straight in. With no air con and just a fan, and not allowed to keep the door open at their request, we had to close all blinds as anyone could see straight in, as thier was zero privacy. She was continually around.Every time we were in the pool Over the 2 days, her self and husband were in the pool. She was swimming and chatting about her life to me and my nephew and (continually removing leaves, possibly 3 different occasions in the space of 30 mins) it was intrusive and awkward. She offered evenings with toasted marshmallows and wine for us to spend together. Odd!On day 2 I had a friend visit for the afternoon and asked if she could swim with us. She said no it was for guest only. I didnt respond to further get a response tp say we werent to swim in the pool with sunscreen, and to put it on after we were done. I had a five year old with me, and had already got sunburnt with having sunscreen on. I mentioned my issues and suggested I leave early if I cant swim in the poolAs this was the only reason I booked it.She offered no solution or negotiation and confirmed my checkout time with a smiley face emoji. I ended up leaving 2 days early, as I also had a huge spider in the corner ceiling of our room and didnt feel comfortable calling on them to come in and help remove it. I dont think she doesnt really want guests but someone to talk to. She was odd on her approach to guests and completely obsessive about tidying up around us. I would not recommend this place at all. If you want privacy this is not the place! Ill be cont air bnb also as she doesnt do the booking through there though that was where my enquiry came through, and called/ emailed and texted me about 5 times to get me to book the venue through her website. I should have known.

Brilliant little cottage.
